Lazy Sunday

Sundays are normally pretty low key for me and my husband.  We like to sleep in, cook breakfast together, and hang out in front of the Discovery channel while I clip coupons.  However, that late start and lazy attitude generally results in not working out – I always think, tomorrow’s a fresh week, better to start the regimen on a Monday. 

Well, no more excuses!  We enjoyed our lazy morning and made plans to run some errands.  I knew that if I waited until after I would probably blow it off.  So I decided errands could wait and got in my workout clothes before I could talk myself out of it.  Got a good sweat on with my newest Leslie Sansone, Burn Body Fat
The disc offers three workouts ranging from 1 to 3 miles, and all three are good workouts in my opinion, it’s just a matter of how much time you have.  The weights add a lot of challenge – she uses light ones the majority of the time, 1 to 2 pounds, but I prefer to do the whole workout with 3 pounds to really feel like I’m working out my arms.  I like the fact that it’s one of the ones where Leslie is solo, I think the groups can be distracting.  However, I wish it had the timer countdown – I like knowing how much time I have left in each mile.  And she skips stretching legs entirely at the end, just does a few half-hearted arm movements, so I added on some stretching.

Fit in a few quick yoga stretches afterwards - I often find excuses to skip yoga due to time (although usually I just want to get in the shower).  I was in a hurry today, but in the spirit of no excuses I decided to take a few minutes to work through my favorite hip and back stretches – pigeon is a particular favorite, it feels so amazing to open up that hip joint.

I feel like I am on the right track, and I am really looking forward to this journey towards the balanced, healthy lifestyle I want to have.  I hope that by sharing all of this I can inspire some you along my way!
